Description
This charming antique mirror stands out for the symbolic strength of its design. The embossed metal frame is crowned by an upper medallion depicting the Sacred Heart, surmounted by a cross and surrounded by flames—an iconography deeply rooted in Christian tradition during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
On either side of the mirror unfolds a graceful vegetal decoration composed of flowing, elegant lines. Stems, leaves, and flowers run vertically along the metal surface, lending visual lightness and creating a delicate balance between geometry and nature. The relief work, executed by hand, retains the small irregularities that make each piece unique.
The patina acquired over time softens the original shine of the metal while enhancing the depth of the decorative motifs. Rather than concealing its age, these traces of time contribute to its beauty and authenticity.
Thanks to its scale and character, it can be incorporated into a collection of religious art or displayed within an eclectic interior where objects with history are appreciated. More than a simple mirror, it is a testament to a period when everyday objects carried protective and spiritual symbolism, becoming meaningful pieces within the home.
Placed on a wall or displayed on a shelf, it brings an intimate and evocative presence, where folk craftsmanship and devotion meet within a single object.
