In this work, Iñigo Unzueta introduces Tintin into a scene built around the encounter between seemingly opposing visual worlds. The iconic character appears against a classically inspired composition, establishing an unexpected dialogue between popular culture and artistic tradition.
The black drawing contrasts with the golden surfaces surrounding the scene, adding depth and transforming the paper into an almost painterly composition. The layering of images, irregular outlines and interplay between the antique and the contemporary are all part of the artist’s distinctive visual language.
With a surreal, ironic and deliberately anachronistic quality, the work transforms a familiar image of Tintin into something entirely new.
