Description

This distinctive work by Pili Iglesias explores human anatomy through the language of textiles. On a fabric base in natural tones, the artist outlines an open torso and reconstructs its interior using different fabrics, stitching, embroidery and padded elements.

The lungs, heart, liver, stomach and intestines are reinterpreted through soft forms and layered volumes, transforming the interior of the human body into an almost sculptural composition. Frayed edges, visible stitching and contrasting textures are deliberately incorporated into the work, reinforcing its handcrafted character.

The palette of raw neutrals, greys, earthy tones and reds creates an intriguing contrast between the delicacy traditionally associated with textile work and the direct representation of human anatomy.

Somewhere between painting, sculpture and textile art, the piece has a surprising and slightly surreal presence. An artist-made work full of texture and personality, capable of transforming a wall and becoming a striking focal point within an interior.
