A voluminous floral fabric bow frames the neck, accompanied by a delicate layer of antique lace, while the body and limbs are dressed in historically inspired patterned textiles. The long yellow boots, small ornamental details and red wooden base lend the figure a distinctly theatrical character, reminiscent of figures from traditional puppet theatres.

The combination of textures, patterns and aged tones, together with the subtle irregularities inherent in handcrafted work, reinforces the individuality of the piece. Each element seems to carry a story of its own, transformed by the artist into a new visual narrative.

The result is a contemporary sculpture of remarkable sensitivity, where fantasy, the memory held within antique textiles and a touch of subtle eccentricity come together to create a character as mysterious as it is endearing.

A unique and deeply evocative piece, ideal for those who appreciate textile art, theatrical aesthetics and objects capable of telling stories.

A contemporary fox sculpture handcrafted by Suzanne McRae using a delicate combination of antique textiles, lace and patterned fabrics.
